When to send your wedding invitations in Pakistan (a realistic timeline)
Invitation timing is judged entirely by the people who could not attend. Different guests need very different notice, and one send-out date rarely serves all of them. Use this timeline instead.
Family abroad — 8 to 10 weeks
Anyone booking an international flight and taking leave needs the dates as early as possible. Send them the invitation, or at least a save-the-date message, well before the local guests.
Out-of-city relatives — 5 to 6 weeks
Guests travelling from another city are arranging travel, hotels and time off. Five weeks gives them room, and lets you get an early headcount for accommodation.
Local guests — 3 to 4 weeks
Three to four weeks is the sweet spot in Pakistan: close enough to stay on their mind, far enough that they can rearrange other plans.
Colleagues and acquaintances — 2 to 3 weeks
For guests invited to one function, usually the walima, two to three weeks is plenty. Send them the version showing only that event.
The reminders that matter
The invitation is the beginning, not the end. Two short reminders prevent almost every no-show.
